World Cucumber Day May 17. Will Men Ever Appreciate the Cucumber?
In the last decade or so, societies have started the embrace health eating habit and trends, thus we have seen the rise of eating more fresh fruits and vegetables, cooking meals at home, and reducing your intake of sugar and refined carbohydrates, which on the other hand help to improve mood and lower your risk for mental health issues. If you have already been diagnosed with a mental health problem, eating well can even help to manage your symptoms and regain control of your life.
Healthy eating is not about strict dietary limitations, staying unrealistically thin, or depriving yourself of the foods you love. Rather, it’s about feeling great, having more energy, improving your health, and stabilizing your mood. If you feel overwhelmed by all the conflicting nutrition and diet advice out there, you’re not alone. It seems that for every expert who tells you a certain food is good for you, you’ll find another saying exactly the opposite. But by using these simple tips, you can cut through the confusion and learn how to create a tasty, varied, and healthy diet that is as good for your mind as it is for your body.
I pretty sure that by now you must be thinking of the many myths that people tend to believe, cucumber makes you slim and so on and so forth, I also have another one in my mind thou it’s not the day to talk about, it is know they have replaced the expensive silicon toys for those who use them, due to their shear diversity in shape, size, texture, contours, availability and simple to use instructions. Yes you got me right that’s what I am talking about. But let’s damp the idea for now and think of men and the famous fruits.
Cucumber cocktails will be served for the whole of this week in some of the most famous cities in the world to mark the World Cucumber Day, yes as simple as it gets: gin, lime, mint, cucumber and tonic water. Even the novice bartender can throw this together at the amazement of onlooking guests. Plus, it’s easy to modify to suit each person’s taste, allowing you to please even the pickiest of palettes. For example, you prefers sour, I prefer sweet, in just a few minutes you have a lovely cocktail on your hands. I tried once and it seemed the longer I sipped on it the better it became as the flavors were given more time to marry.
The best of it all will be celebrated in Dubai, one of the fastest growing trend hot spots in the world. As part of DXB Cucumber Day on May 17, you’ll be able to buy a drink in 35 bars and restaurants in Dubai by simply handing over a cucumber to a member of the staff. As crazy as it may sound, am sure some have already marked their calendar on these day, I know, but it’s true. According to the official Facebook page they will “recognise the true value of the cucumber by transforming the humble green fruit into exchangeable monetary units in celebration of DXB Cucumber Day.”
The offer extends to selected outlets in the city. It’s one cucumber per person, so there’s no need to fill your handbag it won’t help you get drunk unless you’re planning on a bar crawl. The initiative is by a British drinks brand that will offer a specially mixed beverage. I hoping that these will help men to fall in love with the cucumber again as it has been their enemy in all aspect. In the spirit of celebrating the World Cucumber Day.
